The Future of Medicine Initiative, led by the Palm Beach County Medical Society and Palm Beach
County Medical Society Services, is based on the fact that physicians and hospitals, the heart and
soul of the health care delivery system, must take an active role in shaping health care.
The Future of Medicine in Palm Beach County is designed to engage physicians, hospitals, community leaders and individuals in the reformation of the County’s health care delivery system to one that makes sense and addresses fundamental patient care and cost issues, providing ultimately a “road map to where medicine should be in five years.” A recent summit was held, and five critical areas of interest were identified. These areas, presently being pursued by a task force of key stakeholders, are: promoting prevention and wellness; covering more people; improving physician and provider (economic) viability; improving access to primary health care; and promoting quality and patient safety.
In partnership with WPBF Channel 25, the Palm Beach County Medical Society, Palm Beach County Medical Society Services and local hospitals have launched The Future of Medicine campaign to bring awareness to our community about the initiative and issues that we are all facing. The hope is that we will all work together to improve Palm Beach County’s health.
Together, we are the future of medicine.
