Amanda Salinas joined the WPBF News 25 as reporter in April 2006.Before moving to South Florida, Amanda was a reporter/anchor for WPBF's sister station in New Mexico, KOAT.Her news career began in her hometown of Laredo, Texas , as a reporter/anchor. There she covered numerous international stories, including the historic 2000 Mexican presidential election.
Amanda made her way up Interstate 35 to Waco as a reporter at KCEN and then to Dallas. While there, Amanda was a reporter and host of WFAA's Hispanic affairs show "La Vida." Her work on the groundbreaking program garnered her two Lone Star Emmys and a Dallas Press Club award. Amanda also anchored for the 24-hour cable news channel, TXCN.Although she calls Texas home, Amanda spent most of her childhood in Mexico, where she learned Spanish fluently. When she's not reporting, you can find Amanda spending time with her husband and their two children. She enjoys a good workout at the gym and relaxing by the pool or at the beach.Amanda is a graduate of the University of Texas.
